OUR FOUNDER
It’s important to note that our founder, Christoph Gelfand, is a filmmaker first and foremost. Whereas some people dabble in film and media, this is it for Christoph. He has had a camera clutched in his hands since he was toddling around his mother’s house in the '70s.
Upon graduating with a BFA in Film from the State University of New York at Purchase, he has been focused on documentaries, having created two collections of short films, Shorts (2001) and Life as we Know it (2003), and a longer piece entitled, Chasing Buckner (2006), which won the Audience Award at the New Hampshire Film Festival.
Christoph created True Life Media (originally called Poultry Productions) in an attempt to merge his desire to make documentary films with his need to make an honest living. Though he has always thrived on making his films, he soon realized that other people’s ideas could be just as interesting. Today Christoph continues to produce his own work while managing True Life’s daily operations. And that’s just fine by him.
